Saizen Shopping XD

August 1, 2010

Thursday of last week, July 22nd, Cristina of Saizen posted a comment in a blog entry I have about an Eraser Party XD It was regarding a bloggers’ tour to be held in one of their stores, so I sent her an email telling her I was very much interested. She then sent me an invite for July 30th, so yay XD

So last Friday, after Nihongo class, my sister and I, with the help of her boyfriend, went to Trinoma to check out the new store of Saizen located there. Other bloggers came and we were all given GCs which we can use for shopping XD We were also allowed to take photos and take note of our Top 5 finds. This is kind of hard for me because I love so many of the stuff that they have XD

During the free tour, I took photos of various Japanese items which caught my attention or which I particularly like, and then I bought some things too for myself XD I’ve bought a number of other items before in my previous visits to their store in Galleria, so I was able to choose and buy other things. I will be posting some of the photos here, but a more detailed blog post about Saizen as a store, plus the post about the Top 10 things I chose to buy, each with a story behind it, can be found in another blog

One of the beautiful things I found was this set of fish, which can be commonly seen when the Japanese celebrate the festival of Kodomo no Hi, or Children’s Festival. My sister bought it because she likes to have it around for her Fish business (^^,)

Daruma. They are all staring at you. XD

Super cute erasers to add to the collection (^^,)

It was a super great experience and I feel so lucky to have been picked as one of the bloggers for the store’s bloggers’ tour. I already love the store to begin with, so being invited for a tour and some free shopping with their GC is totally SUPER XD We spent almost a couple of hours just going around buying and looking at stuff, because they are all so pretty and there are many things which I like about 5 colors of (”I want five of everything! - Biskit, Animal Crossing: Wild World) XD XD XD

A nice thing about Saizen is that I found in their store the same things I found in the hyaku-en shop in Yokohama, which I couldn’t find in other stores. I was not able to buy so much in the hyaku-en shop because I was worried about my luggage coming back to Manila (after having shopped from Disneyland Tokyo, Shibuya, Ueno, and Asakusa). With Saizen around, it’s like having the actual hyaku-en shop right here at home (^^,) I am definitely going back to visit them often - I love that store (^^,)

After the Storm

July 27, 2010

During the storm last July 14th, I was not able to sleep right away because of the HOWLing wind, and the sound of breaking glass somewhere, plus I had to get up and close my windows because the rain was coming in. After I closed the windows, I stood looking out, watching the trees outside swaying like crazy. Suddenly, there was this series of lightning and one big fat zigzag of light flashed right across our house and struck something at the parking lot, where it made this loud static-like, screeching sound, and then all the lights went off.

I stood on the spot, FROZEN. XD

When I was finally able to move, I sat down on my bed and was telling myself that was so scary, and then I took my pink flashlight and quickly went out my room to go downstairs. Just then I heard my dad telling my mom (in an excited tone) about the flash of lightning that he saw from the backyard. My mom was busy checking the windows, and she had to step out to check on our turtles. After a while, I went upstairs and slept, though fitfully.

The following day, I was not sure if we had school, so I got dressed anyway. As I waited for my sister to come pick me up, I stepped out into the backyward and found my mom checking on the turtles again, and then I saw that the sound of breaking glass came from the mirror in our backyard. I also found the outdoor eating table a mess, with the centerpiece toppled off and the tablecloth almost peeled off the surface.

Later on, it turned out we didn’t have school, but there was also no electricity, so I just slept again and studied, until electricity came back in the early afternoon.(^^,)

Kanji! XD

During Elem 1, my Kanji flash paper were square sheets in different colors. This time, they are in the shape of milk bottles in different colors. When I finish this batch, my next set will be in these cute sheets from Invitation House:

紙 with Haydee

July 24, 2010

I know, that sounded sooo strange XD

But yesterday, at Nihongo class, our sensei showed us her calligraphy set, and she let us try it out. She gave us a general idea of how we should do it, though in reality of course, mastering the art of calligraphy can take a really long time. So anyway she gave us some calligraphy paper, and some of us tried it out. Haydee, one of our classmates, who was also my classmate in Elem 1, wrote the first kana in the Kanji of kami, then I wrote the second kana. After class we tried using the smaller brush to write our names in katakana. Since we cannot bring it home (which means we will need to cut the KAMI - pun intended - in half), we just requested our sensei to post it on the wall for us XD Anyway the wall has our other “artwork” and homeworks on it.

It was so fun, now we want our own calligraphy sets >.<

Our First Attempt XD We signed our names at the bottom (^^,)

Today is One of Those Nice Days

July 13, 2010

This morning I was supposed to wake up at 7, but I was unusually sleepy and exhausted, probably because of yesterday’s midterms and work, as Kiwi-chan pointed out. So, since I still did not have ANYTHING listed in my planner for today and the following days, I decided to sleep as much as I wanted, then just work and study after that.

Plus, it was a little cold in the morning so I wanted to tuck in and sleep and think of サイバちゃん。。。

So I slept some more and got up a few minutes before 10, did yoga, then had a banana and hot Milo as I checked my mail and visited some games. After that I planned the rest of my day until Thursday. So basically I just worked and studied all afternoon, after which I found myself suddenly with free time, and I realize that today’s weather has been doing things to me.

It has been a rainy, gloomy, and a very wet day, and though it would make most people sleepy and lazy, it makes me so alive. My senses have been extra sharp and I have been extra calm, except for occasions when the music would make my heart race, or when certain changes in my wallpaper would take place XD (I set my desktop wallpaper to change every five minutes, and they are all images of やぎちゃん, and some images are just… killers.

So anyway, I’ve been so enjoying the weather. It makes me alive and light and happy and everything. Not happy like, hyper, but just quietly happy. It makes me think of サイバちゃん too and it makes me WISH for him SO MUCH MORE but so far, I think I am becoming even better in keeping the emotions at bay, and not letting them rule my entire day, my thoughts, my actions, my plans, and not letting them distract me from work or school.

I love the weather. My windows are open and the curtains are drawn apart to let the chilly wind come in. The sky is somewhat like Morrowind again, and it makes me wish for サイバちゃん, but the gloomy weather is so not making me gloomy. I just love it. I wish I could spend days like this with サイバちゃん。I wish he were thinking of me (^.^)

This day is a really nice one. It is happiness.

主人 - Of All Things XD

July 12, 2010

This morning was our midterms in Nihongo. QUITE SURPRISINGLY, i got all the items on the Listening Test correct XD I was completely, honestly shocked >.< But I’m happy too because I realize it helps to be really relaxed during the test and to not ovethink about how I will do XD

I would have gotten the midterms perfect if it weren’t for the 0.5 point which was deducted because I got one thing wrong - 主人。 Of all things, I got THIS word wrong, it’s so funny XD The word means one’s own husband - and I got one stroke wrong >.< I hope that when it comes to the REAL 主人, I won’t get anything wrong XD

In any case, I am so happy with the results of my test (^^,) I was not expecting it at all; I was just hoping to pass, because there have been some parts of the lessons that I found confusing. So, yay (^^,)

Bunch of Papers

July 3, 2010

Keita-chan used to say “わたしのかばんに Bunch of Papers があります。” XD

Well it was the bunch of papers that also helped me do well >.< Among the bunch of papers were these flash papers (not cards) of all the kanji we took up in Elem 1. I took this photo on 6月1日 before I went and studied everything again XD

Probably by the end of my current class, I’d have the same bunch, but this time, my “flash papers” are in the shape of milk bottles XD Photos next time XD

Anxiety Attack T.T

July 2, 2010

My day was generally great - I was having a good hair day, I was wearing really comfortable clothes, and I was able to spend a full day with my sister. We went to Nihongo class in the morning, then we had lunch in Sango, then watched “Fourteen” which is among the Japanese movies shown now. After the movies we had pizza, cake, and coffee in Cibo, went to the bookstore, then went home. All in all it was quite a fun day.

However, just a few minutes before I got off the car, I suddenly felt so anxious, until I started feeling nauseous and dizzy. I am not sure what triggered it though I have an idea what factors make up the possible main reasons for my anxiety.

I am supposed to work on a project tonight but I can’t concentrate because I have been VERY anxious for over an hour already T.T

I just wish I’d get what I want now and that things fall into place. >.< Sometimes I feel like I’m going to burst.

Productive Peachness

June 1, 2010

Today is so productive! (^^,) Plus I notice how lately, things are clearing up and SPACE in its various forms are becoming available to me and to better things (^^,)

So apart from taking the big steps I mentioned yesterday, today also covered a lot of “harvesting” (this being The Year of Harvest and all).

Morning, I was able to stick to my To Do list, and then I worked, and I finished early, so I was able to move everything else to an earlier time, though one of my chores took time, but that’s okay. So anyway, I was also able to stick to my To Do list for after working time (partly with the help of some Idol # 3 XD). I was able to clean one of my closets and found that I have more space in the uppermost part than I thought I did. Then, I was finally able to clean and check the computer I am selling, and was able to list down the specs and take out everything from my room, which means getting back some space in my room which used to be occupied by the CPU and monitor.

After cleaning up and everything, I took my nth bath, had dinner, then began studying for the final exams. I just studied for a couple of hours because I’ve been having a fitful sleep since Sunday night, and I always had kanjis and picture drawings in my dreams, where I had to tell if something is ue or shita or naka or tonari or whatever, while writing kanji in the air. SO weird. So anyway tonight I was able to finish reviewing and practice writing Kanji, further to the review and practice I did last Sunday >.< I have to work hard because I get confused when it’s time to write them or to read them as part of a cluster of kana. So, tomorrow I start reviewing my notes, then the book, then all the “bunch of papers” (as Keita-san put it). It is all organized now, I just need to go through all of the materials >.<

So anyway I just had to write a bit about my productive day because I have some energy left and I need to use it up so I won’t stay awake til 3 am. I’m kind of… hyper. I can feel it.

I didn’t forget this part, I just didn’t want to lump it up with the chorey parts and work parts >.< I was able to resolve another thing today, and I think it’s good because I was able to let it out of my system and I no longer feel any trace of anger or annoyance, and I am guessing it’s good to go back to how our friendship was before, and I know I sound weird now because this just seemed to pop out of nowhere. In a nutshell, of course I’d still get those occasional Black Hole moments but generally things have somewhat been ironed out and now all is just… safe.

I really believe so far I’ve done good things and have been cleaning up >.< I guess it would really pay to be my version of a Third Assistant Librarian, and my Disreputable Dog will be the music that makes my heart beat fast - my companion at any time (^^,)

Of course though, something will have to come, I mean good things, not Stilken. XD

Time to sleep! Oyasumi >.<

Last, I realize I still have a bag of minty kisses. The last batch of all of it. They have stopped multiplying a long time ago and will only be left to rot in the bag, so I am sending the last of them to where minty kisses ought to go. So I reach in and send them out to their appropriate inappropriate recipient. And then there will be none, and everything will be much sober, though it would be a nice kind of sober, the one without headaches. So yeah, moving forward :)

I’m still WIDE awake but I am sure I will start to relax once I have a book in my hands (^^,)

Tomorrow has Cake! (^^,)

I need to water my plant now >.< I almost forgot. Oyasumi. (wave)

Big Steps, Another Set

May 31, 2010

Today, I was finally able to turn over That Particular Bag of Stuff. Finally, after having it for SO SO SO LONG.

(For some reason I can’t create a hyperlink because this blog does not work well with Safari. Super malapit na akong lumipat ng blog. Plus so many people are complaining about the popups already.)

So anyway, letting go of the disappointment that I cannot create a link, I have also let go of the stuff. I guess all my defenses were up because I did not want to break down or whatever. I guess it is also good that I did it before Nihongo class so the joy I get from class will help in nursing whatever wound is reopened.

Then today I realized that I still have an entire folder of emails under the one connected to The Bag, and I painfully deleted the entire folder too. I caught snippets of old messages and they felt like twisting daggers on my chest but then, I NEED to be brave and I NEED to be strong, so, though shaky, I am still alive.

Ouch ouch ouch.

This will heal, this will heal.

Kanji Game XD

May 28, 2010

In class today we had a Kanji game, and it was SUPER fun XD Of course, deadma na kung bata ang kalaban ko - it was all about WRESTLING (and screaming for us girls) for the right Kanji card XD I have this funny memory in my head of screaming and grabbing one of the Kanji cards from Ryoma-chan XD Anyway our team won XD We took home Dairy Milks XD

Prior to that we had our famous (at least in our class), or one of the famous dialogues, the one with Miraa-san and Kimura-san XD My partner was Louie-san and at first he was decided to be as stoic and spaced out as the actual Miraa-san. So we went to the front and brough props (cell phones) and he rang my phone to make it realistic XD

However, when the part came for Kimura-san to decline Miraa-san’s invitation for the date, Louie-san started acting weepy and crushed, and unintentionally turned into a goat XD

Today was super fun (^^,)

Well, every class is fun but today was super because of the Kanji game excitement XD And it has been extra fun ever since the invisible barriers were taken away unknowingly by A Fateful Day XD

So anyway, one thing I learned was to target the bombugu-ya XD

By the way, and this is totally unrelated to my Japanese topic XD I had my haircut yesterday XD I was supposed to have it done by the usual hairstylist I go to but I didn’t know it was his off, but it was the only time I could get a haircut, and besides it was more of just a sidebangs cut. So when my parents and sister went to the mall, I tagged along and just decided to go to any salon I find For The Meantime. Then I found this salon which I think is run by a Korean couple, and it was the Korean guy who cut my hair, and I totally love what he did to me XD For a while there I felt like a momoko doll whose hair was being styled for something huge. Loooove love love love. Of course now I look more everydayish, but yesterday I stepped out of the salon feeling like… a doll. XD In a good way of course XD I even LOVE the way he tied back my hair in a ponytail (I also realized no one has tied my hair up in a ponytail for a long time XD) since I came in wearing a ponytail, except he twirled some of the hair at the sides of my head, which, amazingly, suddenly looked perfect XD And then each time he asked “Do you like it?” I wanted to scream “I love it!” XD

So back to stuff NOT related to my hair, I am also glad I decided to work today XD Earlier today I was feeling a little ill but when I came back home I decided to work offline so I was able to bring the laptop (I am using a temporary computer because my real computer is in the Computer Hospital) to my bed and I worked as the weather changed from hot and sunny to rainy and chilly. So, I was able to finish work today and was able to do a lot, and enjoyed the weather while I was at it.

The rainy season has started I guess. I love it too! I love the heat of the summer but I love the chill of the rainy days too (^^,)

By the way, Aisha Duo and rainy weather equal Perfection. (^^,)

*Love love love* (^^,)

(Note to self: I am trying to ignore my SLIGHT, oh so SLIGHT fixation on a person template currently residing in my head. I guess it helps, though, that someone Super Super Kawaii is balancing that. So it is all just about the Happy Feelings XD)

Forgive my shallowness XD

So this was taken a few days before our midterms in Nihongo. I was reading the book, and found this strip, and was quite amused at the facial expression of the “listener.” XD

Basically, the speaker is talking about the bag, and each panel shows the difference of “this,” “that,” and “that one over there.”

In the first panel, the speaker says “This is a bag.” The listener looks at him, detached, and his expression seems to say “what do I care?”

Here, the speaker says “That is a bag.” This time, the listener is holding the bag so now he suddenly looks amused and happy that he has the bag. Now he is eager to listen.

This time, the speaker says “That one over there is a bag.” The listener now does not look bored or as if he was thinking he doesn’t care. Because he was given the chance to hold on to the bag, he is now More Involved in the conversation.

XD Oo nga. Mababaw lang. But I was amused at the illustration and the slight changes in the listener’s facial expression XD

Shelf Buddies

May 18, 2010

I took these photos some time during the last week of April, after we have just moved in to our current home. I arranged by books in my shelf, and placed some shelf buddies with certain books ^.^

I placed Grover near the Psychology books because they make him feel… smart.

The maneki neko (from Peter and Jen) prefers to sit near the Nihongo books.

This bear’s name is Oven (and there’s a long story behind it - feel free to ask my sister) and he is a bedtime bear hence the pillow. Ironically, he chooses to “sleep” by the Spook series, which should not be read before bedtime. (Note: Mother Malkin. *shiver*)

Troy (Full name: Destroyer) likes to stay near Fruits Basket because he feels his looks belong to the zodiac when they turn to animals. He is particularly referring to Yuki-kun.

Yoru (from Precious, and named after Ikuto-chan’s guardian character) stays with the other interesting books, and likes being on the shelf level where Abarat is.

>.<

So suddenly, inexplicably, I fell ill a few hours ago. >.< Despite the summer heat, I wrapped myself up in a thick blanket. I was freezing.

Now I am still achey all over but I am trying to move about and function normally, even if slowly. Later, I will climb to bed and review my homework for tomorrow. I am just finishing my fresh buko juice.

Meiji! XD

May 12, 2010

So we got our midterms results today XD As our teacher promised, those whose scores fall within specific ranges will get a chocolate of choice, the size of which depends on the range the scores falls within. I chose Meiji XD I was among those whose scores fell within the highest range and within that range I got the highest score XD It was like Six Sigma class all over again XD So anyway as expected, I screwed up at the listening exercise (4 mistakes) but I’m happy that I got it all right in the writing, comprehension, and grammar exercises (^^,) (I remember Ryoma-chan saying “nerd” XD) May pinagkalagyan ang paggi-geek over Ateneo Nihongo and self-study Nihongo XD

Early Day (^^,)

May 11, 2010

Today, I started my day really early (^^,) I mean not because I had to, but just because I wanted to, and was able to XD

Well last night I slept really early (^^,) I was in bed by 10:30! I just read a bit of Sabriel then fell asleep instantly! Partly because it was a very tiring day due to the elections. >.< Sunday night, I had my Sunday syndrome and was wide awake until around 2 AM. I woke up at 7, then went to vote, where we had to spend precious time looking for our line. Then we spent 3.5 hours in line. Then we had lunch, then went home, and I worked for over three hours, did some meditation, then studied for Nihongo. After dinner time I was really sleepy already, so I shut down my computer and watched “The Indian Witch Hunt” at Nat Geo, then watched the Wanderlei and Liddell match in UFC Unleashed. Then I washed up, read a bit of Sabriel, then slept.

So, I was awake at 6:06 (^^,)

I brushed my teeth, washed my face, chugged down Gatorade (ganun kainit ang panahon - I wake up thirsty), then practiced kihon and kata, then went to do yoga. Before 8 AM, I was already having boiled eggs for breakfast (^^,) Nice start (^^,)

Our Midterms Exam is Done!

May 7, 2010

Yay (^^,)

Done with the midterms exam (^^,) I think I totally sucked at the listening portion, but I feel that I did okay with the other parts XD *hopeful*

Then I rewarded myself and shopped for some stuff, including some stuff for my bathroom, so my wash area now looks more organized (^^,)

And now I work >.<

Books

April 25, 2010

A huge maleta of books is sooo heavy. Nararamdaman ko na minumura ako ng maleta ko XD Well at least the books are packed, along with old art stuff, and DVDs, CDs, and small random things that I inserted here and there. Only my Fruits Basket manga (hey I just mentioned this in an FB message a few seconds ago) na lang ang nakalabas na books. And the Japanese book I am currently using on top of my official book from class. And Good Omens which I am re-reading.

Uhm, wait. Now that I checked again, there are yoga books and magazines pa pala and more Japanese books. Anyway saka na yun. ANG INET. So maliligo muna ako.

But I am pleased that my packing is so neat and organized (^^,)

Haiku Hirugohan

April 21, 2010

Last Friday, I spent the WHOLE day with my sister (^^,) We had class in the morning, then we went to Haiku for Japanese lunch. We ordered uni sashimi, yasai itame, gohan, agedashi tofu, grilled sanma, and chicken yakitori. (^^,) Happy Haiku Lunch!

After that we went around Greenbelt for a bit, then went home to our house where she indulged herself in Mall World as I tried to clean up my room. She stayed til dinner time, and then left afterward so I was able to finally work >.<

Saturday was kendo, and I somehow felt that I just might be rising from the dead. Or so I think. Have yet to see.

Nihongo Class Heals XD

Okay, I KNOW that sounded weird XD

But seriously, my last two classes resulted, or perhaps, preceded, major improvements regarding my health.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m happy when I’m in class, and I’m excited to learn, and I’m laughing a lot, and I am relaxed at the same time, but I do feel great right before, during, and right after class. So last Sunday, I’ve been sick, right, and I hardly slept Sunday night, and was quite feverish when I went to class Monday morning. After Monday class, I noticed that my temperature became lower, though I was still experiencing bodily pains. By Tuesday, the fever was gone, though my headache remained and my sore throat was worse, and my spasmic stabbing muscle pains still occurred, though less frequently.

Tuesday night I did my homework, and felt more relaxed, so I was able to sleep, and only woke up about 20 minutes before my alarm went off. Then this morning, I was still having a hard time swallowing solid food, but I had breakfast before class. So, class started, and when we took our 10-minute break, I took my meds, and I realized that the sore throat was just, almost gone. I didn’t have a hard time swallowing my medicine at all. By the time class finished, my bodily pains were gone, and my headache occurs much less frequently than before.

So, it might just be a coincidence of course Xp But in any case, I was thinking it might be the class because I am really enjoying each one so much (^^,) And usually right after class I just suddenly feel much better from my sickness XD

So, even if I wasn’t able to go to kendo today (I was planning to, last weekend), okay na rin that I feel better now. I hope I’d be fully well enough to attend on Saturday. But tomorrow, normal skeds na ulit! Full hours plus makeup hours >.< I just hope I get what I will be requesting for *crosses fingers*

High Street High

April 13, 2010

Sunday was great even though I was not able to stick to my schedule ^.^ I woke up around 2 in the afternoon. Around 4, I studied Nihongo and was planning to do yoga at 5. However, Mao and my sister came by to drop off some stuff for the garage sale, and asked me if I wanted to go with them to High Street. The warning signs of SHOPPING flashed through my mind, but I just decided I won’t spend, and went with them.

Then I bought stuff from Lush.

Then we went to Gourdo’s for pizza, coffee, and gelato (^^,) I LOVE Gourdo’s pizzas (^^,) And coffee. And gelato. And yes, the pizzas XD

Then we spent quite a long time at Fully Booked, Mao at the music area and my sister and I checking out the books. Checked out Furubaa too but the next episode wasn’t there yet. So I just bought a case for Hinamori and super pretty notebooks. Then we passed by the Coffee Bean before going home around 11.

I then realized that the whole of High Street emanates with all these pleasant emotions that they make you feel like it’s great to spend and shop XD

Finished!

April 9, 2010

I’ve now fixed / reorganized next week’s schedule (and finished a pot of green tea - although I’ve started drinking this prior to the OC-schedule-fixing, as I studied Japanese vocab) - just for next week. Let’s see how that will turn out and then I can just make adjustments for the week after that. There are some things I took out from my daily skeds to make space for the classes, but that’s okay because the classes will only run for about two months. I’ll just think of the next class schedule when this one’s over. (Of course I need to pass first >.<)

Today, I wasn’t able to practice, buy cake, and do the home inventory (Will start packing at the last minute, AS USUAL. Maybe the books can be packed ahead, though.) Have moved “cake” and “inventory” to Sunday (good luck). I am so sure that “cake” sounds weird. It’s the movable Cake Day, which originated from 4moggs-of-the-disheveled-bunny, or his office where he is occasionally The Bald Boss. Anyway, my day has been full but I TOTALLY LOVE IT and The Music rocks my world (^^,)

I guess, too, that I feel somewhat “freer” (like that’s a word *sneer*) after the last rune reading and after telling the winds to carry away (more of implied to) what (or whom) I was letting go of. Of course I still have those occasional urges to totally THROW myself (like Wonderland Scones) into it, but the rune totally woke me up, and it helped me ease into the change/shift, whether or not it really existed. I do hope though, I stay fine like this long enough until… everything falls into place.
